Vision Statement:

Elementary:

BGBS elementary students (K-6^th grade) are offered a strong academic program with a fun and exciting learning environment. Our curriculum includes a variety of subjects including a strong phonetic reading curriculum, math, handwriting, Bible, reading skills, science, social studies, physical education, music, art and other special units. Academic progress is measured in the spring through the Comprehensive Test of Basic Skills (CTBS). Our goal is to shape the whole child, not just academically, but in every area of their lives by challenging them to be all God has created them to be.

High School:

Many opportunities are given to high school students seeking academic excellence.  Honors courses are offered in English, Bible, and History.  Bible courses and weekly chapel are an integral part of each student’s schedule. Major academic disciplines of math, English, science, and history are all designed to exceed state graduation requirements. To enhance a student’s overall experience, volunteer community service is required and career development courses are offered. Our commitment to small classes provides the best environment for learning and growth.  Our desire is to prepare students not only for college, but for life through a Biblical worldview.

BGBS and Athletics:

BGBS is a member of the Kentucky Christian Athletic Association (KCAA). We participate in basketball, volleyball, softball, baseball, and chearleading.  Elementary students can participate in co-ed soccer. We feel that the true measure of success is demonstrated through the development of Christian character.  Yes, winning is important, but glorifying God is the ultimate goal of our athletic program.

A Message from our Principal:

I am very fortunate to serve in a Christian school where students, parents, teachers, and supporters work together in serving Jesus Christ.  We need to work together in making Blue Grass Baptist School the best it can be.  I cannot do it alone, but if everyone works together, God will truly bless our school and our school families.  We need to put our Lord first and wait upon Him to bring amazing results to our school!  I am excited about being Principal of BGBS.  Our students here are what make this school such a wonderful place to serve. 

My vision for the school is to move toward a stronger academic, college-preparatory education that will enable all our students to go to college.  Instilling a Biblical worldview across our curriculum and the mindsets of our students will enable them to stand firm in their beliefs as they prepare for their future. 

As we continue to grow in number, I would like for our school to expand in classroom and athletic space or possible re-location.  This will take time of course, but we need to work together allowing God to bless our school and our school family.  I want to thank God for giving me this opportunity to be administrator of BGBS.  May God Bless each and everyone of you!
