EAGLE HOURS GUIDELINES

BGBS Board of Directors, in conjunction with our Parent-Teacher Organization, requires each family to provide 25 hours of service, or pay $5/hour for each unworked hour. There have been a few changes this year. Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the guidelines.

bulletWorkers MUST sign log sheets to be credited for Eagle Hours. No cards to get punched or to keep track of.
  • School Administrative Assistant will have log sheets for sign-in/sign-out.
  • PTO treasurer will credit Eagle Hours and do billing from log sheets only. Please remember, if your hours are not listed on the log sheets-you will not receive credit for hours worked.
  • Eagle Hours required-25 hours per family (one-parent families-15 hours). $5/hour for each unworked hour. (Enrolled for half of the school year: fee is ½).
  • No sharing of Eagle Hours. Only family members can share hours.
  • Students-9th grade and above can now work for (pre-approved) Eagle Hours!
  • Athletic coaches, assistant coaches, and team moms receive their Eagle Hours; coordinator of our annual Book Fair and other fund raisers receive their Eagle Hours.
  • Home room moms and dads can log in their hours for Eagle Hours credit.
  • School field trips of two hours or more travel time to be given Eagle Hours credit (no athletic trips).
  • Deadline May 1. Any hours worked after this date will be credited to the next school year. If unpaid, student cannot receive hi/her report card; and cannot re-enroll for the next school year.
  • Please pay any Eagle Hour Money, separate from tuition and any other fees due the school, to our school Administrative Assistant.

KROGER/MEIJER FUND RAISING

Blue Grass PTO coordinates the Kroger and Meijer fund raising programs.  If you’ve never participated, this is how it works:

Kroger uses gift cards.  It’s very simple.  These $5 gift cards are initially purchased from our school office for $5.  At the register, just add any amount to your gift card (the amount of your purchase or more).  Then use your gift card to pay for your groceries.  The receipt the cashier hands you will show any balance left on your card.  BGBS gets a percentage of your total purchase!

Meijer uses a different method.  We have forms in the school office that are easily filled out and sent to Meijer; or you can signup online at www.meijer.com.  Within a couple of weeks you will receive a card that you show at the time of any Meijer purchase.  BGBS receives a percentage of your purchases.  How easy!

Talk to grandparents, friends, and neighbors—anyone can have their purchases credited to BGBS!

It’s “free money” for our school!

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION GUIDELINES

We are kicking off our Box Tops for Education campaign for this school year! Last year, we raised over $500 with just a handful of our families participating.

This requires no extra money on your part, just time clipping coupons on items you already buy (see attached), or buying products on-line (see attached). Please read all attached sheets for important information.

First, we need ALL of our families to sign-up at btfe.com. There is no cost. This month for every new member that we have to sign-up we earn 5 box tops. You will receive e-mails updating you on our school's progress, great recipes, and helpful tips.

Use the attached collection sheet. Have this sheet turned in before October 1st and receive double credit! You must have at least 30. You may copy attached form. Only two forms per household, however, may be turned in.

If you have questions, you may contact Deborah at ddddjohnson@windstream.net or 223-2840.

Box Top Guidelines:

1. Clip coupons off products you buy or shop on-line. To shop on-line, you must go to btfe.com website then click on Marketplace. You will click on the business you wish to shop. A percentage of your cost will be given to the school. No extra money from you.

2. Count your child's box tops for the month and place in a Ziploc bag. Please label with your child's name and number of box tops. Turn in to your child's teacher.

3. Each month we will draw names for $10 gift cards to Wal-Mart or Target. Elementary will have one winner. A total of $20 will need to be collected for the month from the entire elementary to have this drawing (no big deal they did it easily last year)!

Middle/High School will also have one winner, but the entire Middle/High School must collect a total of $20 a month to have this drawing.

4. Your child's name will go into the drawing once for every 10 box tops they bring in that month.

5. Winners will be given their gift cards the first week of the next month.

6. A record will be kept for the entire year of how many all participates bring in. We will have 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners at the end of the year.

7. Our goal is $1000 this year. Watch for details to follow on what our reward will be when we reach our goal!!
