Eagle Hours Program

Beginning with the 2002/2003 school year, BGBS Board of Directors, in conjunction with our Parent-Teacher Organization, requires each family to provide 25 hours of service, or pay $5/hour for each unworked hour. Because our children's education is important to us, we can all work together to make it the best it can be! Please stop by the office to pick up your EAGLE HOURS card; card can be punched in the office or by the PTO president. (There is a list in the office of summer projects to be done, if you are able to help out in the next few weeks.) We have several projects for the coming school year that need volunteers.

Need two parents to volunteer to co-sponsor our Book Fair next March 10-14. Each of these persons will earn 25 Eagle Hours. Contact Mr. Causey if interested.

Athletic Fruit Sale. Two parents are needed to serve as co-sponsors of the Fall Athletic Fruit Sale. The fruit sale is usually held in the month of November. Both of these persons will earn their 25 Eagle Hours for this project. Contact Mr. Causey if interested.

Volunteer librarian. We are looking for someone who can serve as a volunteer librarian. This person would help to enlist and coordinate volunteer library moms for each elementary class. The library volunteers select a time that is convenient for them and are responsible to reshelf books, straighten our collection and help with checking out books and with cleaning the library. Contact Mr. Causey if interested.

Volunteer elementary P.E. We are looking for a few dads or granddads who can relieve our elementary teachers from the supervision of their students for a 45-minute period by taking the students outside or to the gym for a time of P.E. This is a great opportunity to earn Eagle Hours while enjoying the excitement of young children.

QSP Fall fund raiser. Again this fall, we are looking to sell items from the QSP Reader's Digest fund raiser. Two parents are needed to serve as co-sponsors of this event, which is usually held at the end of August. Both of these persons will earn their 25 Eagle Hours for this project. Contact Mr. Causey if interested.
