Last year's first graders were asked about their summer plans. Here are their responses:

Caitlin Curry - I go swimming at the beach every summer vacation. We take a picnic when we go fishing. We go camping and to the beach at Cave Run. I like to find shells at the beach.

Daniel Kerns - I love summertime because I can do everything; like ride a bike or swim in a pool. I'll swing on my swing. I don't know what I'm going to do this summer.

Rebecca Robinson - One day I came home from school and I was out of school and I went on a vacation. I went to King's Island. I rode the rides and I liked it. I can do a lot of things there. The rides are fun.

Benjamin Taylor - I like the summer because school is out. I also love the summer because I get to go on a trip. I can go to Disney World and to King's Island. I can go swimming.

Andrew Bigelow - I love the sum-mertime because school is out. I'll be swimming at the beach. I'll probably have lots of fun. I know I'll be outside a lot. I think I'll be on my swingset a lot. I'll be playing basket-ball, too.

Marquise Owens - I like summer because summertime is fun. You know why? It's fun because school is out. Summer is very hot and so people like to swim. I like summer because I can play.

Tyler Keller - I like to go camping. I like to go to Disney World. I like to play volley ball. I like to swim in my pool. I like to go to King's Island.

Joshua Watts - One day I got out of school and I went home proud. When my Mom and Dad got home we went to the beach. Then we got a volleyball and played that. Then we went in our hotel and T.V. After that we went swimming and that was the best part of all.

Matthew Peel - This summer I'm going to Gatlinburg. I'm going to the cabin. Next year we're going to a hotel near the cabin. I see my cousins. They are two, two and a half, and three.

Taylor Vines - I love summertime because I get to go swimming. The summertime is fun because I get to ride my bicycle. I like summer vaca-tion. I get to go to the park. I like the summer.

Cristin Lesher - I like the summer because I love to go swimming at the pool. We meet my friends and we spend the day. I also like to go to the park near my house.

When we asked the sixth graders, they told us:

Heather Sapp - In June go to Daytona Beach. In July go on a cruise to the Bahamas. Hang with my friends.

Alyse Garrard - I am going to Summer Shades at Leestown. I am going to Washington, D.C. I am going to Ohio to visit my cousin Charla.

Amanda Williams - In June I am going to Daytona, Florida, for one week. Sit at home and talk on the phone.

Ruth Fritts - What I am going to do this summer is probably go to the pool with my mom, 2 brothers, and sister. Later, I will be going to Sum-mer Shades. In July, I will be going to choir tour in Virginia. Before school starts, I'm going to a church camp.

Adam Finch - Go see movies, play roller hockey, watch TV, socialize.

Matthew Hawthorne - Go on vacation to St. George, Florida. Stay home with T.V. Play with my friends. I might go to camp.

Matt Columbia - I'm going to Myrtle Beach for a week. I'm going to my cousin's graduation.

Rachel Hopkins - My plans for this summer are as the following: May 23-July 1 I will go to Iceland to see my dad's side of the family. The rest of the time I am going to go over to my granny's house. We might do a little camping. That is my summer!

Christopher Holland - Sit around, watch T.V. and do nothin. Maybe see a movie and go to the mall. Go on vacation! Peace out!

Travis Elan - Work with Dad. Babysit little cousin. Play baseball. Go to basketball camp. Go to pool. My birthday.

Chad Adams - I'm going to Texas for the summer to visit my nanny and grandpa.

Joshua Warren - Goin to King's Island and sit at home and do nothin.

David Peterman - Going to Panama City. Watch T.V. Play video games.

Joni Cornette - I'm going to King's Island the day after school.

Jeremy Hensley - For the summer I will be going to Florida for one week. Then I will probably go fishing and camping. On Saturdays I will be playing baseball. In June for four days I will be at basketball camp. The rest of the summer I'll be working with my grandad on the farm.
