Mr. Philip Ritchey

Bio:

Philip Ritchey was born in Versailles, Kentucky.  He graduated from Woodford County High School in 1994.  He attended Cumberland College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in May of 1998.  He then attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and received his Master of Arts in Christian Education in December of 2001.  Philip began Blue Grass Baptist in October of 2002 as a middle school English teacher.  He then began teaching Spanish his second year at BGBS.  Philip served as Academic Director during the 2006-2007 school year and then served as Assistant Principal during the 2007-2008 school year.  He was promoted to Principal June 1, 2008.  He is currently working on his Christian School Administration certification.  He plans to begin working on his Master of Arts in Christian School Administration in January.  He has a passion for students and Christian Education.  As Principal of Blue Grass, he is going to strive to challenge our students, teachers, parents, and supporters to make Blue Grass an academically-challenging school where students are receiving a solid, Christian education taught from a Biblical worldview.  Philip is married to Stephanie Ritchey who works as a Ministry Assistant at Immanuel Baptist Church.  They have been married for seven years.

A Message From Mr. Ritchey:

I am very fortunate to serve in a Christian school where students, parents, teachers, and supporters work together in serving Jesus Christ.  We need to work together in making Blue Grass Baptist School the best it can be.  I cannot do it alone, but if everyone works together, God will truly bless our school and our school families.  We need to put our Lord first and wait upon Him to bring amazing results to our school!  I am excited about being Principal of BGBS.  Our students here are what make this school such a wonderful place to serve.  My vision for the school is to move toward a stronger academic, college-preparatory education that will enable all our students to go to college.  Instilling a Biblical worldview across our curriculum and the mindsets of our students will enable them to stand firm in their beliefs as they prepare for their future.  As we continue to grow in number, I would like for our school to expand in classroom and athletic space or possible re-location.  This will take time of course, but we need to work together allowing God to bless our school and our school family.  I want to thank God for giving me this opportunity to be administrator of BGBS.  May God Bless each and everyone of you!
