Mrs. Haering's 3rd Grade Class wrote poems about Snow Flakes:
Snowflake, snowflake Oh, so white Snowflake, snowflake Falling down all night.
Snowflake, snowflake Falling down from above Snowflake, snowflake You float down like a gentle dove. By: Josie Hayden
Snowflake, snowflake Floating through the air. Snowflake, snowflake Coming down without a care.
Snowflake, snowflake Your beauty I admire. Snowflake, snowflake You glisten in the fire. By: Hannah Perry In Mrs. Watts' classes the students have been talking about INFLUENCE. Students hear commercials on television about being “above the influence” or about choosing their “anti-drug.” We are learning to BE the INFLUENCE. We are learning how without our even realizing it people are watching us and learning from what we say and do. Each one of us is an influence in the world around us in our school, our church, our home, and even when we walk down the street. We are learning how to walk out our Faith in a positive way for the world to see. We watched a video about “laminin” which is a protein in the body and the “glue” that holds our body together. The little protein in our body is shaped like a cross. Just as Colossians 1:16-17 says For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist. Our students are the walking, talking, “laminin” of the Church Body, daily taking up their Cross to live a life of influence for Him. Some of the essays that our students have been writing are available below. Poem for the Lost... By Hannah Lawrence When I see each wandering face; each one lost and misplaced, trying to find a place in the world, so lonely, and cold, no place to call home. They cry out for help each and every cold and lonely night. I search each face and begin to wonder why they have been labeled "misplaced." Why are they followed by "disgrace?" Yes, we walk through the valley of the shadow of death; each and every day just hoping to find our way. But, can we find it on our own? No, only the one that beholds the heavenly throne. Only He can lead us out of the way of astray. I can barely see the lost and wandering faces, but I can see the Heavenly Father carrying us home to forever worship Him at His throne!
If Love’s A Sea
If love’s a sea
Then I’m a pirate
Stealing hearts with whispered words,
But treasure soon lost its luster.
So I cast the broken pieces from me.
If love’s a sea,
Then I’m a sailor,
Guiding my ship to meet the wave,
Ever looking for the horizon,
Still believing love’s for me.
If love’s a sea,
Then I’m an explorer,
Taken by the deep blue beauty,
Searching for the last hidden place,
But, again humbled, wondering if love’s for me.
If love’s a sea,
Then I’m a shipwreck,
Distressed and calling for help,
Hoping to see the lighthouse,
Still praying love has need of me.
