SENIOR HONORED Rebekah Stang, daughter of Bill and Virginia Stang, recently received honors from the National Assoociation of Secondary School Principals. She was nominated to compete in the national Principal's Leadership Award scholarship program from which 150 $1,000 college scholarships will be awarded. Rebekah received the nomination because she "demonstrated exemplary achievement in her academic work and service to her school and community," said Gerald N. Tirozzi, the executive director of NASSP. Rebekah is senior class treasurer and has received awards in foreign languages and leadership. She received the Youth Salute Award, Youth Salute Scholarship and a scholarship to Midway College. She has served as president of the art and science clubs, as well as student council treasurer and Beta Club president. In addition to these achievements, Rebekah has played on our girls' volleyball team. Rebekah seems well on her way to continue her education in nursing. Congratulations Rebekah! for Federal Student Aid FAFSA applications are in the counselor's office now. Seniors need to pick these up before January 1. Students also may complete the FAFSA online and send their data over the Internet at www.fafsa.ed. gov. A brochure titled FAFSA on the Web, The Wave of the Future, is available from the Department of Education to explain the process. You may receive this brochure by calling (800)4FED-AID (800)433-3243). KASFAA will host the Financial Aid Hotline (1-888-4KASFAA) which is staffed by financial aid professionals who will answer your questions about financial aid.
