On Senior Night, February 11, the Eagles played Trinity Christian Academy. The crowd was a big one, and they were ready to cheer. Starters for Blue Grass were all five seniors—Phillip Breeze, Drew Hammond, Shawn Kidd, Ben Peel, and Bryan Scarbrough. The first quarter was played neck and neck. Both teams’ defense were playing strong. Early in the second quarter TCA had put the Eagles in bonus. At half time, the score was 27-23, with Blue Grass in the lead. In the third quarter, the Eagles scored 21 points to lengthen the lead. Trinity scored only 13. In the fourth quarter, it was pretty much the same story with Blue Grass scoring 20, and TCA scoring 15. The final score was 68-51, Blue Grass. The high scorers of the game were Hammond with 19, junior Bill Williams with 16, Breeze with 10, junior Marty Clough with 8, Peel with 2, and Kidd with 3. Some of the highlights of the game were Bill Williams’s behind-the-back lay up which drew a foul; Breeze and Hammond’s big break aways, and Breeze’s 3’s.
